One of Google's many answers. Don't know if this applys to you or not. You didn't give us much info to go on. System specs (OS, Ram, etc.) Kind of hard to guess.

Is swfoc.exe the game you are using?

Is this the first time you have used the game on Windows 7 64bit, if so have you made quite sure that it is compatible with your OS.

Can you post the full text of the error and also see what is reported in event viewer when the crash occurs.

So, what is swfoc.exe? and what is the game you are trying to run?

I searched for swfoc.exe and just got a lot of torrent sites. Is this some other game or application that you downloaded and installed before you tried to re-install and run the problem game. From your first post this .exe file is named as the app that crashed, perhaps there is a conflict, try uninstalling swfoc.exe.

If you suspect there are some messed up files as you mentioned in post 6 you could try running chkdsk as follows.

If the game is also failling to run on other PC's then perhaps your copy is damaged in some way. Do you have the game on a genuine disc or is it on an external hard drive?

swfoc.exe = star wars forces of corruption this is a real game disk i have been using
in the past i have wiped the c drive and started over but i dont want to do that.
i have tried what u had asked me to do in CMD and stuff there was not change to the system and no i diden't download this at all it is on a disk. i have uninstalled in many times and then reinstalled it and nothing changes.
it is trying to access the memory but it cant cause of violation. and yes swfoc.exe is the thing that crashed due to error access memory violation. i have a windows 7 home and check side panel for more info. i am not sure where i have my disk for back up setting for my computer so thats i don't want to go that way if i dont have too. thanks

OK, first, I just realised the instruction I gave in post 8 to run chkdsk was for XP, please use the instruction again, I have edited the first part of the instruction. This will now run correctly and should reveal any corrupted system files.

If the test comes up clean then something must have changed between the time you last used the game without errors and now. Can you recall any changes you made to your PC, new software, new drivers, microsoft updates, etc.

It is interesting to note that this game also fails to work on other PC's, were they also windows 7 64bit.

    In Addition

Is the full title of the game "Star Wars, Empire at War, Forces of Corruption ".

If so, you will most likely need some patches to go with it. The game was released in October 2006 before Windows 7 was released.

The system requirements only relate to Windows 2000 & XP.

Were you using Windows 7 when it used to work or were you using Windows XP.

the other computer i tried it on was a vista home and it did the same thing it did with my windows 7 and yes the full title of the game "Star Wars, Empire at War, Forces of Corruption is the first one works just fine on windows 7 just a week ago i had it installed from this date 1/11/2010 i just uninstalled in last week Friday. i have the update for 1.5 for that game to work but the access violation is whats causing a problem. ok so u want me to go back though that what i did yesterday and see if it fixes the problem then? if so i will do it later today it took it 3 hours to finish the task i just uninstalled all programs that can be taken off this morning in hopes that might help it. like i removed all games from the computer for now. or should i have them two games put back on the computer? and then try that well i am going to try it with out that game on there and then do it with that game on there and see if that fixes it i hope so.

What you have listed above is simply a description of the error, it is not describing how to fix it. Leave your registry alone. There is most probably a problem with a driver.

Follow this instruction and we may be able to see some more detail. Get the game back on and let it crash. The run the Blue screen view. When selecting what to save just pick the last two or three most recent crahes.

Instead of BlueScreenView (which isn't very useful), use our own tool.
